Dr. Mark Abumoussa is a double board-certified specialist in
Anesthesiology and Pain Management, with a distinguished academic and
background. He earned his undergraduate degree from the
University of North Carolina and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a
Master’s Degree in Biology-Medical Sciences from Mississippi College.
He then returned to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to
complete his medical degree, where he was awarded both the Wilder
Medical Scholarship and the Thomas J. Dark Medical Scholarship.
Dr. Abumoussa has conducted research and pursued advanced studies in
Neurosurgery and Pain Medicine across various esteemed
universities and research institutions. He completed his
Anesthesiology residency in Charleston, South Carolina, followed by a
comprehensive Pain fellowship at Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania.
Fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Arabic, Dr. Abumoussa is
committed to serving diverse communities, with a particular dedication
to the Latin community. He plans to extend his outreach through
mission work in South America alongside his twin brother.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Abumoussa is a passionate
volunteer with youth organizations and enjoys soccer, basketball,
tennis, hiking, mountaineering, and all things related to UNC.
